Students from Suceava invited to get involved and demonstrate their creativity
Suceava – 14 November 2018 - Global commerce solutions leader and top digital Cloud transformation company, OSF Digital, in partnership with Stefan cel Mare University in Suceava, presents the fourth edition of the OSF Hackathon contest.
OSF Hackathon is a contest that encourages the creative thinking and innovative spirit of students in Suceava. It is designed to inspire leadership and help young people become familiar with marketing and management concepts. Competitors will have the opportunity to experience taking a project from the idea stage through to the creation of a final product.
"This Hackathon is our way of aligning the knowledge students obtain in academic institutions with what is required by the labor market. Since the launch of our first edition, we have been aiming to offer students the opportunity to understand the planning process behind a real project, from the documentation phase to final product testing. They learn how to collaborate effectively in teams and work with time constraints to deliver quality work. There’s also the ability for students to demonstrate their creativity and imagination within a team setting. We are glad that every year we offer students a way to put into practice the things they are most passionate about," said Alexandra Gazda, Quality Director & DPO at OSF Digital.
During the OSF Hackathon, specialists from OSF Digital will work alongside students to provide them with the opportunity to understand the process of configuring the various technologies used in the company, such as secure servers or virtual machines, as well as discover new, state-of-the-art technologies.
Participants have a chance to win a cash prize which is awarded to the top three teams, as well as several special prizes. Of greater value is the chance to gain experience with top IT specialists from a large international company. The chance to obtain a permanent position with OSF Digital remains the most important prize according to students who participated in the OSF Hackathon in previous years.
Students from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science who want to demonstrate their talent and creativity are invited to participate in the launch of this contest on November 14, starting at 14.00 at the Dimitrie Leonida Amphitheatre of Stefan cel Mare University in Suceava. The registration period to enter a team runs will be held from November 14 to December 5, with the competition starting on December 10. On this date, the technical project requirements will be announced and teams will begin their work.
