Leading Global Cosmetics Company Enhances and Increases Their Online Retail Capabilities

OSF Digital announced today that it has completed work on several key digital properties for L’Oréal Canada’s Active Cosmetics Division (ACD). New ecommerce-driven, multi-lingual websites have recently been launched in Canada for SkinCeuticals and LaRoche-Posay - with a new website for Dermablend currently in development and scheduled for release the summer of 2018.
OSF Digital initially created a custom ecommerce platform for L’Oréal referred to as LORA or L’Oréal Reference Application. A customized version of the Salesforce Commerce Cloud platform, LORA enables L'Oreal Group brands to launch, renew, run and evolve their ecommerce presence. Pages that are created using LORA are designed using a mobile-first approach with attention given to how they will be supported on desktop, tablet, and mobile devices.
The ACD group then worked with OSF Digital to develop ACD Core which is built on top of LORA and further extends the platform’s existing capabilities. Using ACD Core, L’Oreal Canada’s capitalizes on a central hub that leverages common functionalities shared across all brands, in both English and French. The company has reduced their implementation, maintenance, and evolution costs, benefits from a faster time to market and has profited from the constantly evolving ecommerce capabilities that the platform offers.
The philosophy of ‘build once and deploy to many’ is supported by this initiative as L’Oréal Canada’s Active Cosmetics Division now has a reusable platform providing them with easy maintenance and deployment, as well as the ability to rapidly release new sites. Overall, their capital expenditures are reduced by 70% and their time to market for the development of new websites is cut by 75% after using this new model. The ACD Core model has been a great success and is being considered for use within other divisions, countries, and zones at L’Oréal.
